What are Small Groups? They meet on Wednesday nights either weekly or bi-weekly during the months of September thru April for around an hour and a half.  Small groups break down a large church so members and their guests can interact with one another more effectively. Through this ministry, life change occurs.  Examples of this may include asking for prayer in your life, sharing aspects of your life with others who have accepted you and a place where you can experience God's pressence.  Jesus Christ chose a small group of men called the disciples carry on his work.  He spent over three years teaching, training, performing miracles and loving them the way that God loved them.  After Jesus ascended into heaven, these men took what Christ had shared with them, and shared it with the world.

What happens in a small group meeting? The focus of small groups is to build a stronger relationship with other members of your group by applying the biblical principles from the sermon.  A study guide is provided for each group to guide the discussion and challenge members of the group. This allows the group members to discuss the sermon in more detail, ask questions and share their life with others.  During this process, life changes occurs and begin to connect with others in your group.

Why should I belong to a small group? We were not created to be alone, but to interact with one another to share our gifts, talents, praises and concerns.  There are many people who desire a deeper commitment with Jesus Christ, but unsure how to do that.  Small groups is made up with different people with different degrees of spiritual maturity.  As group discusses the sermon, each members is challenged to make changes within themselves.  Trust builds with the group, some will share their struggles, admit short comings or just need encouragement that someone cares about them. Small groups can meet a relationship need that so many people are desiring today.  Wouldn't you like a group of people who care about you, that love you and want only the best for you?

How can I become part of a Small Group? If you are interested in becoming part of small group, you can email Rob Brown The Discipleship Minister or call the church office at 362-0098 and will be happy to find a group that is the right fit for you.
